Another Fall Build Event completed for Give & Grow in 2011. Give & Grow was excited to work with Grant Elementary which has over 1100 students attending one of the largest and oldest schools in the Long Beach community. With the help of Principal Mona Cook and the Long Beach Unified School districts Give & Grow was able to transform the atmosphere of Grant Elementary into a campus that the students were extremely proud of. This was the first event that the students were able to see the transformation first hand. It was a great feeling to hear the students express their gratitude in person while working on the various projects which included: Assembly of playground and fitness equipment, Building of planter boxes and benches, Building and installing tables in the lunch area as well as the primary playground, Painting of 6 murals through out the campus and Painting of all the ground games such as hop scotches, four squares and the U.S. map. All the volunteers worked very hard to make this event possible.
